I’m thrilled to be sharing my review for A Little Christmas Charm by Kathryn Freeman as part of the blog tour today. First of all though let’s take a look at the description for the book…
Would you swap sea and sunshine for tinsel and turkey?
Gabby Sanderson is used to being let down – even at Christmas. Which is why she’s happy to skip the festive season completely in favour of a plane ticket and sunnier climes.
But this Christmas could be different, because this time she might not be spending it alone. Can Owen Cooper charm Gabby into loving Christmas in the same way he’s charmed his way into her life, or is he just another person who’ll end up disappointing her?
There is such a lovely charm to this story and that is definitely down to the characters, now I have to admit that it probably took me a couple of chapters to get a feel for the characters. However Kathryn Freeman did such a great job of revealing the layers of their personalities as the book progressed. Both Owen and Gabby had been hurt in the past and made them slightly wary of forming a connection. The relationship was written in a way that felt real and made me hope that there would be a happy ever after for them. There is a sizzling chemistry between this pair that they found hard to ignore but there was also a more deeper connection as they get to know about each others lives and pasts.
If you have read A Little Christmas Faith then you will love the connection but please don’t worry if you haven’t because this book easily works as a standalone. Once you do get to know the characters the pages will fly by and you will be glad that you picked up this book. A Little Christmas Charm is a gorgeous festive story that I read over two evenings. This book made me smile and had a sizzling but sweet romance along with engaging characters that you really want to root for!
With thanks to Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources for my copy.
A former pharmacist, I’m now a medical writer who also writes romance. Some days a racing heart is a medical condition, others it’s the reaction to a hunky hero.
With two teenage boys and a husband who asks every Valentine’s Day whether he has to buy a card (yes, he does), any romance is all in my head. Then again, his unstinting support of my career change proves love isn’t always about hearts and flowers – and heroes come in many disguises.
