I’m thrilled to be sharing my review for Christmas Miracles at the Little Log Cabin by Helen J Rolfe today as part of the blog tour. First of all though let’s take a look at the description for the book…
ABOUT THE BOOK
Do you believe in Christmas Miracles?
Holly is looking for a change and even though not everyone agrees with her career choices, she’s determined there’s more to this life than the long hours she works as an editor in New York City. What she doesn’t expect is to meet Mitch, a recluse who’s hiding more than she realises.
Mitch does all he can to avoid human contact, spending his days in the little log cabin out in the woods behind Inglenook Falls where he owns a Christmas tree farm, so when Holly falls into his life, he’s not sure how to react. All he knows is that something needs to change if he ever wants to get his life back on track.
Along with friends Cleo and Darcy, Holly is determined to bring joy back to Mitch’s life, but will he appreciate their interference? And when a business proposition throws everything up in the air, will it do more harm than good and ruin lives forever?
Both Holly and Mitch must learn that on the surface people aren’t always what they seem…but if you dig a little deeper, they can take you by surprise.
Curl up this Christmas for plenty of snowflakes, roaring log fires, a marriage proposal, unlikely friendships and second chances as were turn to the much-loved characters in the New York Ever After series.
Now even though this book is part of a series I jumped straight in and didn’t feel any confusion. There is such a lovely feel good vibe to this book that made it the perfect festive book.
I loved getting to know Holly and then in turn Mitch and seeing how they became friends. It did take me a couple of chapters to get a feel for Holly’s character but I think Helen J Rolfe did a brilliant job of taking the time to create a brilliant character in Holly. Mitch and Holly share such a wonderful connection that had me rooting for them all the way through. With warm and sweet interactions and a beautiful setting that will make you want to instantly visit Inglenook Falls. I have to admit Mitch was my favourite character and it was so lovely to see his character evolve as the book progressed.
There are strong themes of friendship, family and love with a few deeper issues too that all balance out to create a well rounded story. Helen J Rolfe has created a story that really built up an emotional connection to the characters. Best enjoyed wrapped up in a cosy blanket with a hot chocolate so you can become fully immersed in this charming story!
With thanks to Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources and the author for my copy.
