Thank you for stopping by I’m delighted to be one of the stops on the blog tour for Second Chance at the Ranch by Maxine Morrey and sharing my review today. First of all though let’s take a look at the description for the book…
ABOUT THE BOOK
It’snever too late for a second chance at love in this uplifting and warm-heartedromance.
It’s never too lateto find love…
When Juliet Scottfalls for ruggedly handsome Pete while away travelling, she never imagines how differenther life will be to that of her sister, successful and beautiful model Hero.Based on a cattle station in the vast Australian Outback, Juliet’s life is nowsimple, down-to earth and honest, and the perfect antidote to the chaoticcelebrity lifestyle that Hero leads in the UK.
With her strikingbrunette hair, perfect posture, and mesmerising green eyes, it is no wonderHero has come so far in such a superficial industry. But when tragedy strikes,Hero finds herself in the arms of her sister, recuperating from a terribleaccident on the other side of the world.
With her modelling career in tatters, and her scars more than just skin deep, Juliet worries that Hero will hide behind the mask she wears forever. But does Australia have something, or someone, to offer that London never could?
When I first picked this book up I never realised how invested in the characters I would become. This story has a whole lot of heart and the characters are developed really well creating that all important emotional connection. Hero is a complicated character because of her job and personal reasons she has created a persona that isn’t necessarily a true reflection of her real self. My heart broke for her at times especially as she reveals her past. Hero is a character who you will root for, be frustrated with at times but overall kept me reading determined to see how it would all turn out for her.
The plot moves at a steady pace but easily kept me invested in the story with the setting of Australia providing an extra special charm. Along with family drama at its heart and engaging characters that made me hope for a happy ever after. The family dynamic between Hero and Juliet was a wonderful aspect of this story and added an extra depth especially the more they interacted. There is romance in Second Chance at the Ranch and it all just adds an extra layer to an already charming story!
Maxine Morrey has written a story that took both the characters and myself on a wonderful journey!
