Thank you for stopping by as I share my review for Let’s Make Pom Poms by Katie Scott as part of the blog tour today! With thanks to Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources for the invite to join the tour and to Katie Scott for my copy of the book. First of all though let’s take a look at the description of the book…
ABOUT THE BOOK
Fun and easy makes for all the family. Get crafty with pom poms with 15 easy to follow step by step guides. Make your own set of fluffy dice, sushi that looks good enough to eat and an everlasting Christmas tree as well as many other exciting projects.
This is a fun, easy step by step guide on how to make pom poms and there is a lovely variety of projects. At the beginning of each pom pom design there is a list of what you will need then a list of steps to follow along with photos to show the finished item. All very straightforward and easy to understand which was great for me!
The one I picked to make was the alien pom pom as I thought my two children would really love that one. My little ones decided to help but I think they were probably a little too young to have the patience to sit and make a full pom pom. So I made it myself however we all picked the colour of wool and the children decided to decorate the pom pom in their own way. So it was quite a lovely way to spend some time together. Luckily we didn’t have any arguments either! Phew! 😂 Below you can see our friendly alien!
The next thing I’m determined to make is the pom pom bookmark, after all you can never have too many bookmarks! I also really liked the fact that there were some seasonal projects and I’m looking forward to making the snowman this Christmas too!
At the back of the book is more detailed information about making pom poms. This book features how to use pom pom makers to create each project. However it also mentioned using forks which sounded interesting so I looked that up on YouTube and made a pom pom that way too! (see below)
Let’s Make Pom Poms is a fab craft book that I loved looking through and then deciding what to make. I’m also really looking forward to creating some more pom poms in the future!
