The Earl’s Runaway Governess by Catherine Tinley @CatherineTinley #BlogBlitz @rararesources #Giveaway #Review

I’m delighted to be sharing my review for The Earl’s Runaway Governess by Catherine Tinley as part of the blog tour today. With thanks to Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources for the invite to join the tour and to the author for my copy. There is also a fab giveaway to enter but first of all though let’s take a look at the description for the book…

Who knew living with an earl…

…would lead to such temptation?

Marianne Grant’s new identity as a governess is meant to keep her safe. But then she meets her new employer, Ash, Earl of Kingswood, and she immediately knows his handsome good looks are a danger of their own! Brusque on first meeting, Ash quickly shows his compassionate side. Yet Marianne doesn’t dare reveal the truth! Unless Ash really could be the safe haven she’s been looking for…

This was a book that was so easy to lose myself in, it had a little bit of everything from romance, drama and a bit of danger. In this story we meet Marianne who has to take drastic measures and run away to be a governess. What can I say other than I loved Marianne’s strength of character let’s just say that I was rooting for her right from the very beginning! Catherine Tinley did a great job of revealing both Ash and Marianne’s personalities showing that there was so much more depth to them. You are shown how little say Marianne has in her life. With very few options open to her she has to hope for the best when she is hired as a governess. Then in Ash’s case how he suddenly finds himself in an unknown situation but slowly but surely starts to find his way and actually relishing in the responsibility.

This is a story that has depth and feeling making you care about the characters along with maybe shaking your head at them on occasion. The romance was beautiful and felt natural as the friendship between Marianne and Ash is built up perfectly. The villain of the story is written very well and comes across as a very dark and scary threat as well as being completely believable. You can well imagine how some women would have found themselves in terrible situations and unable to do anything about it.

The Earl’s Runaway Governess has a wonderful charm that kept me turning those pages as I couldn’t wait to see how it would all end. In no time at all I finished the story and I couldn’t help but smile!

This is a story with a lot of heart, a wonderful romance and plenty of charm!
