Flying by the Seat of my Knickers by Eliza Watson @ElizasBooks #BlogTour @rararesources #Review

I’m delighted to be one of the stops on the blog tour for Flying by the Seat of my Knickers by Eliza Watson and sharing my review today! With thanks to Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources for the invite to join the tour. I actually had a copy of this book already waiting patiently on my overflowing TBR pile. So this was the perfect opportunity to read it! First of all let’s take a look at the description for the book…

Why run from your troubles when you can fly instead?

When Caity Shaw is fired from her first job that doesn’t require an elf uniform, her older sister, Rachel, an event planner, hires her to work a meeting in Dublin. Caity jumps at the opportunity to travel abroad and escape her pathetic life. However, even four thousand miles from home, there’s no avoiding debt collectors, an overbearing mother, and haunting memories of a controlling ex.

While in Dublin, Caity suffers a series of humiliating mishaps, causing her to lose even more faith in herself. Caity struggles to earn Rachel’s respect—and to keep Declan, her hot Irish coworker, at arm’s length. Declan repeatedly saves Caity’s butt and helps boost her self-confidence, making it difficult to keep her distance from the charming womanizer. When Declan helps her research her Irish grandmother, Caity discovers the mysterious past of the courageous woman she barely knew might hold the answers to her future.

In this book we meet Caity who has travelled to Ireland for a job with her sister. A job that she desperately needs to keep in order to get herself out of debt. However working with her sister isn’t easy and Caity finds herself in getting into a few scrapes along the way but also learning too! I really enjoyed seeing Caity come out of her shell and begin to relax gaining some much needed confidence along the way!

I thought that when Caity decided to look into her ancestry it added a little bit of mystery to her family and it will be interesting to see which way that thread of the story will go in the following books.

There is a lovely mixture of lighter and deeper moments as you get the fun antics of Caity’s job but then mix in how her past relationship has affected her. This all combines to make you really root for her character!

If you enjoy a story with travel in it then this book is ideal. It was great fun joining Caity and everyone on this mini tour of Ireland. This is the kind of story that you just fly through and at just over 200 pages it’s a short and fun book that would be perfect to read in an evening or a lazy afternoon. Eliza Watson has created a lighthearted story that made me want to keep on reading to see what would happen next. This is book one in a series so the book does leaves things open for the next story. Let’s just say it will be interesting to see what is in store for Caity next along with seeing the rest of her adventures unfold!
