Thank you for stopping by! I’m delighted to be one of the stops on the blog tour for The Lord’s Inconvenient Vow by Lara Temple. Today you can catch my review along with the chance to enter a fab giveaway! I would like to say thank you to Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources for the invite to join the tour and to the author for my copy. First of all though let’s take a look at the description for the book…
ABOUT THE BOOK
‘I have a favour to ask…
I want you to marry me.’
Part of The Sinful Sinclairs. Samantha Sinclair was always Lord Edgerton’s complete opposite. But as Edge meets Sam again in Egypt, it’s clear the years have changed her as much as him. So when she blurts out an impulsive, convenient proposal, Edge’s protective urge compels him to accept. Is it possible for two such different people to be together and find the happiness they both deserve?
This book, sigh! Well, what can I say, I loved it! This is the final book in the Sinful Sinclairs series and let’s just say I have been eagerly awaiting Sam’s story. Now don’t worry if you haven’t read any of the other books in the series as I do think it works well as a standalone. However it has been such a brilliant series I have to recommend starting with book one.
In The Lord’s Inconvenient Vow we meet Sam and Edge as they reconnect after many years apart. I loved that past connection of being childhood friends or maybe more aptly frenemies and I thought it added a wonderful depth to the story. As soon as they meet sparks fly once more and I loved their connection! Even though I knew that the path ahead wouldn’t be smooth sailing especially with emotional back stories and secrets just waiting to pop out. Sam really is the perfect heroine she is feisty, strong and even though she has her flaws there is something that made me want the best for her. I warmed to her in the previous books and even more so in her own complicated story. Now Edge to begin with is a bit of a mystery and has quite a guarded personality however as the book progresses the layers are revealed and this gives his character depth and a wonderful appeal. There is quite a bit of dancing around each other but they are also equally drawn to each other creating tension as I wondered how it would all turn out for them.
I have to mention the setting as within the book we spend time in both London and Egypt. I love any travel aspect in books so this for me was the perfect addition! Lara Temple set the scene perfectly making the characters seem so at home in the rich and descriptive moments in Egypt.
Lara Temple has brilliantly combined history, travel and romance. I enjoyed every single page of this wonderful story!
