Lilian and the Irresistible Duke by Virginia Heath @VirginiaHeath_ @rararesources #PublicationDayPush #Giveaway #Review

Thank you for stopping by! I’m thrilled to be sharing my review for Lilian and the Irresistible Duke by Virginia Heath as part of the Publication Day Push today! With thanks to Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources for the invite to join the tour and to the author for my copy. First of all though let’s take a look at the description for the book…

A reunion in Rome…Sparks an affair to remember!

Responsible widow Lilian Fairclough is persuaded to travel to Rome for a hard-earned break and to let down her hair! She’s surprised to be reunited with passionate, cynical Italian duke, Pietro Venturi. He reawakens her sensual side and intrigues her with glimpses of pain beneath his rakish surface. Enticed into a secret and temporary affair – what will happen once she returns home?

I have to start by saying that I love any book that can whisk me away with the characters on their travels and that is exactly what Lilian and the Irresistible Duke did! I loved the initial insight into Lilian’s life, her thoughts and feelings. This trip to Italy is something that Lilian has longed for and now that she has no responsibilities maybe she can just go with the flow and enjoy herself. Lilian is caring and selfless, after spending her life caring for others maybe it’s time for her to find herself!

The gorgeous setting just added so much to this book, what could be more romantic than Italy and a flirty Italian called Pietro, sigh! 😉 I loved Lilian and Pietro’s first or should I say second meeting and I couldn’t help but smile away to myself! The chemistry between Lilian and Pietro was just perfect showing not only a friendship blossoming but that all important sizzling tension bubbling away too! Virginia Heath has created a brilliant and sighworthy hero in Pietro. He is completely charming but scratch at the surface and there is so much more to him than that initial flirty persona. His past has left an impression on him which keeps him on his guard and I loved seeing how Lilian kind of chipped away at that side of him which really allowed the reader to see his caring side.

Lilian and the Irresistible Duke is a romantic and engaging story one where I was in a bubble and completely wrapped up in Lilian’s adventures in Italy! A romantic, charming and wonderful story, loved it!

When Virginia Heath was a little girl it took her ages to fall asleep, so she made up stories in her head to help pass the time while she was staring at the ceiling. As she got older, the stories became more complicated, sometimes taking weeks to get to the happy ending. Then one day, she decided to embrace the insomnia and start writing them down. Despite that, it still takes her forever to fall asleep.
