MY REVIEW

First of all I have a little bit of a confession to make. I actually bought my copy of The Flatshare ages ago. I was very eager to read this book but at the same time I also felt a little scared in case I didn’t enjoy it. So I kept putting it off. I know, I’m silly. What can I say?! However I’m really not sure why I worried so much because I loved it!

It’s safe to say that I was intrigued as to how Tiffy and Leon’s situation would work. You see they decide to share a flat and a bed even though they have never met. However this is actually ideal for them as Leon has use of the flat during the day as he works nights and Tiffy is there during the night as she has a day job. See what I mean, perfect! I have to say that this story was just what I needed at exactly the right time. So I guess me dithering about when to pick this book up actually worked in my favour. Who knew there was actually a method to my madness.

The best way for me to describe The Flatshare is that there was a brilliantly heartwarming vibe and one that made me smile throughout. There is romance at the heart of this book but there is also so much more than that. From friendships to difficult relationships and family drama thrown into the mix too. It all combined to create a special kind of story that captivated me from start to finish. The plot itself moved at a lovely pace and I was always eager to turn those pages.

I have to admit that I spent most of my time reading this book with a smile on my face. Especially when Tiffy and Leon began to exchange notes as a way of communication. This unusual arrangement may not seem like the perfect situation but these characters made it work so well. The way they started a tentative friendship that just grows and grows easily made me invested in seeing their story play out. There are some moments within the Flatshare that gave an emotional connection and some that left me giggling. It really made for a wonderful combination! The Flatshare captivated me with love, friendship and life. The perfect feel good story!
