Thanks for stopping by! I’m delighted to be sharing my review for The Diary of a Nagging Wife by Donna Mensah as part of the blog tour today. With thanks to Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources for the invite to join the tour and to the author for my copy. First things first let’s take a look at the description for the book…
A hilarious story of the ups and downs of a overtired and overworked mother, two needy children and an overbearing husband the perfect laugh-out-loud story.
The diary of a nagging wife is a hilarious journey of the up’s and downs of the life of Annie a 39-year-old mother to a chatty toddler and a newborn, going from a high roller financial manager to being boggled down with two children is no easy picnic, throw in an overbearing obnoxious husband to the mix equals a disaster. Written in the form of a diary, join Annie as she begins to wonder whether there is more to life than swollen breasts and picking up her husbands dirty laundry from of the floor.
Can Annie truly figure out what she wants from her life?
If you are looking for a quick and entertaining read that takes a look at married life and coping with small children then look no further. The Diary of a Nagging Wife had me nodding my head, smiling away and also wanting to shake my head at the characters. Showing the warts and all aspects of life that Annie had to cope with. Annie doesn’t have it easy with two young children and a husband who let’s just say isn’t very helpful!
I do think both characters had their flaws which gave them a realistic edge. I think all couples could do with learning to listen to the other person. This definitely applies in the case of Annie and her husband. On occasion I did have to shake my head at this pair but they certainly provided a generous helping of drama in this story! The diary entries were fun and drama filled with Annie telling it exactly how it is. The Diary of a Nagging Wife is packed with real life moments, sarcastic comments and a wife on the edge!
