Thanks for stopping by! I’m delighted to be taking part in the Publication Day Push for The Earl She Should Never Desire by Lara Temple and sharing my review today. With thanks to Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources for the invite and to the author for my copy. First things first let’s take a look at the description for the book…

This very handsome earl…

Is the one man she cannot fall for…

War widow Lily Walsh has left her aristocratic family behind, but she can’t deny her younger sister’s request to come to London to meet her fiancé. Though not a love match, Lord Sherborne is kind, amusing and ideal for her sister on paper. But as Lily gets to know him, she’s finding him alarmingly attractive! And the forbidden look in the earl’s eye shows the feeling is mutual…

MY REVIEW

The Earl She Should Never Desire was a sparkling, chemistry filled read and I loved every moment!

I will start off by saying that there is a kind of love triangle but I thought Lara Temple did a wonderful job of not letting it overpower the story. The romance itself was a slow burn but the characters connection was built up in a believable way. Both Lily and Marcus sparked off each other brilliantly. With every interaction there is an attraction simmering even though they tried their best to fight it.

I thought the undercurrent of emotion was perfectly placed. Once you know of Lily’s past it just made the story even more heartfelt. As well as her struggles to keep her emotions and attraction inward. The plot moved at a lovely pace and I was fully invested in Marcus and Lily. Their story and connection really shined through. The element of family drama was also a welcome addition. However alongside the drama, emotion and romance there was also a wonderful light humour that made me smile until I turned the final page!

Author Bio

Lara Temple writes strong and sensual Regency romances about complex individuals who give no quarter but do so with plenty of passion. She lives with her husband, two children, and one very fluffy dog and they are all very understanding about her taking over the kitchen table so she can look out over the garden as she writes and dreams up her Happy Ever Afters.
