Tempted by the Warrior

But she’ll never wed

Brynhild had once been close to Erik – until he’d betrayed her, and she’d hoped never to see him again. Now the fiercely independent shieldmaiden needs Erik’s skills to rescue her sister. Striking a truce with the tough, isolated loner they reach a mutually beneficial deal: in return, she’ll help him in his quest to find a wife – by teaching him how to please a woman in bed…!

The Shieldmaiden Sisters series is going from strength to strength! I really enjoyed the first book in the series where I was introduced to the first of three sisters, Valda. In Tempted by Her Outcast Viking the reader gets to know Brynhild and of course Erik, sigh. I think I fell for him myself. Okay, I admit it. He was definitely swoon worthy! I do think this book works as a standalone but this is such a great series that it would be a shame to miss out on reading book one.

I loved Brynhild and Erik, they had such a strong attraction that really burned bright. There was tension as the pair raced across country but also a smouldering romantic tension too. I thought Lucy Morris did a wonderful job with these characters. Their personalities were so in sync along with their strength of character. They also both had a vulnerability that on occasion edged its way in. I couldn’t help but root for them and hope for a happy ever after.

Tempted by Her Outcast Viking was a real hit with me. The characters were engaging and I loved seeing Brynhild and Erik’s tentative friendship develop along with seeing a more sizzling side too. I was completely caught up in this gorgeous romantic adventure and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. All that’s left to say is that I can’t wait for book three!
