Thanks for stopping by! I’m thrilled to be sharing my review for Rescued by Her Highland Soldier by Sarah Mallory. With a big thank you to the author for my copy. First things first though let’s take a look at the description for the book…
Her rugged Highlander
Is the gallant son of a laird!
Traveling alone through the treacherous Scottish Highlands, Madeleine d’Evremont is saved by rough-looking soldier Grant Rathmore. Attraction flares between them as he escorts Madeleine on her perilous escape to France, until she discovers he’s the heir of a respected laird! Madeleine knows she must let him go. Surely the daughter of a humble adventurer could never be a suitable match for him now…
Rescued by Her Highland Soldier had such a beautiful romance. With Madeleine and Grant making the perfect pairing. Sparks flew between these strong characters but at the same time there was a gorgeous slow burn quality to their connection too. This all added an extra special charm and created an even more engaging story. I loved how Madeleine knew her own mind and wasn’t afraid to be forthright in her opinions. In the same way Grant was just as likeable with a loyal, caring and quiet way about him that instantly appealed to me.
I have to talk about the location because I felt as if I had been whisked away and transported to Scotland. In a time where there was danger around every corner. I really enjoyed the history aspect to the plot and Sarah Mallory carefully wove a true feeling of that time throughout. As we see Grant facing a future different to what he expected. Then the reader gets to see a captivating chemistry develop between Madeleine and Grant as they try to make their way to safety.
Rescued by Her Highland Soldier is book two in the Lairds of Ardvarrick series and what a perfect second book. Even though Rescued by Her Highland Soldier is part of a series it easily works as a standalone. I enjoyed every single moment of this story and especially loving the escape it provided. Stepping back in time and becoming wrapped up in a story filled with romance along with the hint of a dangerous edge. I loved both the characters and the setting. Rescued by Her Highland Soldier is a wonderful story!
